Our history
The history of our Arabian horse breeding goes back to 1992 when the SAHRC (Swiss Arabian Horse Racing Club) was created and the first Arabian horse race was organized in Switzerland, in Basel in 1993. GIBECIERE by Dunixi and Gora by Manganate is the first mare of the Haras acquired for this occasion.
With her first two victories in Basel and Yverdon, she marked the beginning of a long adventure in Purebred Arabian racing under the colors of the late Bernadette Morand-Savioz, in Switzerland, France, England and Germany. EDWINA by Dormane and Jaffa du Berlais by Baj entered the stud at the age of 6 months.
Only one daughter from Edwina’s production WIN TAOUY by DRUG will become the mother of many group winners. She will give birth to AMERETTO by AMER in 2006, the year of Bernadette M-S’s death.
AMERETTO starts in 2009 at 3 years old in Chilivani with a spectacular victory followed by 4 other victories on Italian territory. Manuela Scharfenberg takes over the breeding and racing career of AMERETTO in Germany. He will win 4 years in a row the Triple Crown of the Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan Festival.
In 2009, WIN TAOUY will give birth to DJET TAOUY winner of several Group I races in UK and France, today Stallion in France for the Royal Cavalry of Oman. In 2014, Manuela Daverio-Scharfenberg founded the company EDWINA STUD GmbH, which is active in racing and breeding.
A daughter of Gibecière, MAK’LEOPATRE by Dormane, crossed with AMERETTO gave birth in 2016 to OCTOPUS PREMIER who opens a new page of victories, undefeated in 5 outings Italy.
Today EDWINA STUD’s livestock is located in the northeast of Sardinia on the land of Azienda Agricola LEPUS REGINAE.
